New gates

It is time for new baby gates. The old ones have fallen apart. I use them for pet gates as well as safety gates when there are little ones in the house. I frequently have visitors with small children and like to make sure the house is as baby proof as possible. You never know what they will get into and since my children are all five and up the necessity for the old baby proofing is long gone.

I even have one for the hearth on the fire place. I use this one the most, even with my own kids, especially during the winter when I have a fire going a lot. I love my fireplace and so do my children. We cut wood a lot so we can have a fire going. It helps to save money on heating during the winter months that normally run me over three hundred dollars a month or more. I know that as soon as I don’t need them anymore for my kids and the friends and neighbors, I will have grandchildren to use them for. I guess I will always use the safety gates no matter what.

Danged XBox

I am so glad I bought insurance on the XBox. It is freezing up while you play the game and then you lose all of your progress in the game. If you have been playing for a while then you will lose a lot of progress. I bought it refurbished to save money, but made sure to buy a years worth of insurance just to be safe. When you have children it is a must with any kind of electronics. Especially game systems that run for hours on end. Time to hit gamestop.

Found it

I was looking for a new website hosting company for my cousins new site for his business. I have searched diligently for the best servers with the most competitive pricing. These can be difficult to find as there are so many to choose from. My cousin has had his own business for ten years, but had not really gotten into the internet advertising game until recently. He had a page made for him, but is not happy with his current hosting site. I promised to find him one with the latest technology, LiteSpeed Technology hosting on 8-core Xeon server.

This is one of the best hosting technologies around. I know that everyday technology advances and what was once the best is no more. Therefore, it is imperative to find a company that is constantly upgrading and creating newer better software. LiteSpeed Technology hosting on 8-core Xeon servers are definitely the best of the best to work with right now. I am sure that my cousin will be very happy with this new hosting company to work with. I searched long and hard to find exactly what he needed to make sure his page is successful. After all, I want only the best for my cousin.

Weather

I have discussed the weather before I am sure, but this is just annoying. Supposedly, it is going to snow this weekend, but they cannot say how much snow versus rain we will get. This winter has been so confusing that the weather people don’t know whether they are coming or going. I know that it must be driving them nuts, at least for our area. I cannot wait for spring, but I am not looking forward to the tornadoes and flooding…zzzz

How exciting

My friend Cherise just got a new job working for a chemical investment banking company. They have offices in New York, London and Shanghai. She will have to learn more about the company itself by working at each office. Cherise will start out in the New York office learning the chemical mergers and acquisitions there first. She is so excited about this opportunity and her hiring package is to die for. She and I were in business school together and this particular job would scare me silly. It is so advanced in business and banking that I am not sure I would ever be able to understand it myself. I mean we are talking about mergers and acquisitions for countries not just for corporations. Investments for places like China, that will bring prosperity to the country. That is indeed a complex job to have.

Chemical M&A is totally devoted to the chemical industry. Ironically enough they haven’t been hit as hard as other industries with the economic crisis that is global not just centered here in the US. They were able to restructure just enough to slide through without a dent to their market. I find that amazing considering the push for so many countries and corporations to go green. I am curious how exactly they managed to do it and I am impressed with their business acumen that got them through something that has bankrupted so many others. I wish the best of luck to Cherise and her new career. I will miss her when she goes on to London and then Shanghai, but I know that she will be home to visit as often as possible.
